"Recycle with bags at large supermarkets"

In 2019 I found out that there were collection points for empty crisp packets and duly began collecting them in a plastic carrier bag. Then Covid happened and our local collection point, a school, stopped accepting them and that was that - before I'd even delivered one bag-full.

About 3 years after I belatedly started noticing this on the plastic covers and bags for fruit cartons, rubber gloves, vegetables, all sorts of products. As someone who has been recycling newspapers since 1973, bottles since they invented bottle banks, and metal and plastic since they started kerbside collections, I couldn't believe I'd been ignoring this advice and sending multiple wrappers to incineration for years.

Now I have a carrier bag into which does everything with this label - this includes crisp packets! - and evert 3 or 4 weeks it comes with me to our local Co-Op when I go for bread, milk etc and is emptied into the appropriate bins there. Zero effort, maximum smugness!
