Sometimes things can turn around overnight, can't they!
On Tuesday, to make up numbers when a mixed doubles man dropped out, I played my best tennis for months, possibly years, following a couple of disastrous games last week. (My elation over a 4:6, 6:1 comeback was slightly dulled when I discovered that the man on the other side of the net was 84 years old - but I'm sure he was an ex-county player!)
On Wednesday morning C, who has not fully recovered from a throat etc illness dating from early November, coughed briefly - so we did lateral flow tests and she was POSITIVE. We're both triple-vaxed and have done many, many LFTs but this was the first time we'd seen two lines.
I was negative so I went out and got stocked up with food for the next few days of meals. But today (Thursday) I'm positive too. Bummer! I miss tennis, Forest v Leicester in the FA Cup, a dental appointment ...and that's just assuming I'm clear after 5 days.
So far the illness is mild, though C is fed up with the throat and headaches which have now lasted, with few respites, for almost 3 months.
Apologies to anyone to whom I may have passed Covid. I have no idea where we could have caught it; haven't exactly been partying...
